History
Mother Jones gave her life to God at a young age at First Street Church of God in Christ in Chickasha, Oklahoma and later served at Mount Olive Baptist Church until she met and married her husband. Mother Jones and Pastor Jones moved to Sacramento, California in the early 60’s and served at the Greater Light Baptist Church. Since the tender age of 3 years old she sang in choirs and led solos with a resounding sound similar to that of Mahalia Jackson. As a dedicated pastor’s wife, she served diligently beside her husband, Dr. Andrew Jones, Pastor of the Greater Solomon Temple Missionary Baptist Church in Sacramento, California and St. James Baptist Church in Colusa, California, serving the people of God in various capacities. The two love birds served side by side for over 30 years in pastoral ministry. Earline Jones has also served other pastors in the City of Sacramento as a pianist and a choir director.
Mother Jones served faithfully at Greater Solomon Temple Baptist Church until she became a member of Williams Memorial Church of God in Christ under the pastoral leadership of Pastor Larry G. Meeks, where she served until she took her flight home to Heaven. Mother Jones will be missed for her candor, humor, philanthropic heart, and kind words of wisdom. Mother Earline Jones took her flight home to glory in the early morning hour on July 20, 2017. She received her crown of glory and heard the Maste say, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant. Enter into your rest.” She will be missed.
